Brachioplasty - Upper Arms Contouring |
|
GOAL: To reduce the diameter of the upper arm by removing the excess of the hanging skin and subcutaneous fat tissue.
OPERATIVNE TECHNIQUE: The surgical approach can be from the axilla, along the inner side of the upper arm or both if needed. After detailed and carefully planned marking, the excess of the skin and fatty tissue is removed from the treated regions. Dreinage is usually not necessary. In some selected cases we can achieve the same result by liposuction only, or combining both techniques.
DURATION AND ANESTHESIA: Operation is performed under general anesthesia and lasts about 1.5 hours.
RECOVERY: Stitches are removed 10-14 days after the operation. Elastic garment is recommended up to two weeks.
RARE COMPLICATIONS: Swelling, bruises, mild itching of the arms.
