This year, The Annual meeting of  International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) was held in Boston, in a beautiful building of the World Trade Center. The meeting has lasted  for six days and the impression of all participants was that it was most meaningful to date. Eminent doctors from all around the world have had a number of lectures on hair transplantation, compared the different surgical techniques and results, talked about some future techniques, organized the high-quality workshops and different courses, and compagnionship is continued after presentations on various locations in Boston.

 

The only participant and member of International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery from Serbia was Dr. Gorana Kuka. In addition to participating in numerous workshops these, she held a lecture and thus drew attention, as the youngest participant on our country  and hospital Colic, which is not behind the global trends of hair transplantation. One of the current leading names in hair transplant and the doctor who first started to use an automated technique of hair transplantation, Dr. Alan Baumann has provided the most support for further popularization of this technique in this part of Europe. She also had the opportunity to meet and Dr. Jeffrey Epstein, a renowned plastic surgeon that specializes in hair transplantation and published the most studies a year on hair transplant, eyebrows, eyelashes and hair from the body with whom she arrange  the cooperation for further training in this field. The most interesting, useful and most visited workshop was organized by the Dr. Samuel Lam and Emina Karamanovski, Doctor of Serbian origin who are now engaged in hair transplantation in the United States, and  they are the authors of currently the most actual  and the most complete book on this topic.

 

Before the congress, Dr. Gorana Kuka spent several days in New York in the office of the famous professor of Columbia University, Dr. Robert Bernstein, who is considered as one of the ideological founders of FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technology. At his clinic, our doctor was able to participate in operations, to present her experiences and ideas and get impression of the method of work in this world-famous clinic for hair transplantation.
